Ultimate Safe Solution
Silver Pyjamas are a technologically advanced and lightweight
product, providing comfort and hygienic protection when in contact
with the human skin. They provide visible protection and removes
doubt: the silver is clearly visible in the product making it
guaranteed to have the actual active silver ingredient present.
Silver provides hygienic protection when in contact
with the human skin; it is a self sanitising skin product that
provides the foremost preventative barrier against cross infection
from the localized environment.
The properties of the silver used in the pyjamas
signify a dramatic advancement in anti-microbial technology and
is being used to prevent harmful bacteria from proliferating,
mutating or being transmitted from the product. The anti-bacterial
agent is inherent and active for the life of the product.
Microbial infestation is a danger to both living
and non-living creatures where the tiniest cannot be seen by the
naked eye including bacteria, fungi, algae and viruses.
Effective
Most anti-microbial fabrics are tested over 24 hours these silver
pyjamas eliminate 99.9% of tested bacteria in less than one hour
of exposure.
The hotter or wetter the environment the more effective the silver
becomes as bacteria are more prevalent in these conditions.
Keeping Warm
Silver has an Infrared Reflectivity (IR) rating of over 95%, and
is thermally the most conductive reflective element. In other
words, 95% of the radiative energy that contacts silver will be
reflected back and help to regulate the skin temperature.
Silver has one of the lowest emissivity ratings of any element,
which means that it radiates thermal energy very slowly. Silver
will remain warm for a very long period of time (as opposed to
none silver clothing, which remain hot or warm for a very short
period).
The result is that silver pyjamas, will help to keep the body
warm in cool or cold conditions by reducing heat loss and reflecting
the body’s warmth and energy back to the skin.
Keeping Cool
Besides: eliminating bacteria and nasty odour, silver is the most
thermally conductive element on the planet. The silver therefore,
works to quickly and evenly distribute and transfer heat throughout
the body. In warm weather, silver enhances the bodies natural
actions by accelerating the conduction of heat away from the skin
(a normal textile product without silver would simply be a barrier
to heat conduction).
Much like a silver spoon in a cup of hot tea, the silver will
transfer the heat from the skin to the ambient air, thereby cooling
the body.
Product You Can Trust
These pyjamas are made from medical silver fabric to help defeat
the threat of microbial sources.
Anti-bacterial efficacy tested to standards AATCC100, AATCC147,
JIS L1902 and EN ISO 20645, determined by Agar plate diffusion
test method for test organism: Staphylococcus Aureus (MethicillinResitantSA)
ATCC 6538, Escherichia Coli ATCC 11229, Klebsiella Pneumoniae
ATCC 4352.
Wash Performance
These pyjamas in conjunction with regular washing and appropriate
laundering have been designed to continue to give effective protection.
For healthcare requirements, temperatures up to 71°C can be
used to achieve thermal disinfection as per document HSG (95)18.
These pyjamas do require cleaning and should not be considered
either as a replacement or an alternative to normal good hygiene
practices. They however will provide the highest optimum level
of due diligence currently available against the proliferation
of disease causing bacteria.
Regulation
These pyjamas which are made from silver fabric for consumer and
healthcare hygiene protection fall within the scope of the Biocidal
Products Directive 98/8/EC.
They are within the scope of The Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC.
The pyjamas are made from fabric which assists with the compliance
of the HEALTH ACT 2006 Code of Practice for the Prevention and
Control of Healthcare Care Associated Infections.
In Particular
- A duty to protect patients from Healthcare Care
Acquired Infection.
- A duty to assess risks of acquiring HCAI and
to take action to reduce or control such risk
- A duty to provide and maintain a clean and appropriate
environment for healthcare.
- A duty to ensure, so far as reasonable practicable,
that healthcare workers are free of any, and are protected from
exposure to communicable infections during the course of their
work, and that all staff are suitably educated in the prevention
and control of HCAI.
Stay Safe
Super bugs are on the increase. In the UK alone it is reported
that 1 in 9 patients already has a Health Care Acquired Infection
at any one time. These pyjamas are made from technical fabric
scientifically engineered for the use within the healthcare sector
to combat the spread of Health Care Acquired Infections. The silver
element kills 99.9% of bacteria within one hour – including
MRSA
Key facts
- It is estimated that 12% of hospital in-patients
acquire an infection while in hospital.
- The are at least 300,000 Health Care Acquired
Infections a year
- Around 5,000 deaths each year can be primarily
attributable to HCAIs and is a further 15,000 cases it might
be a substantial and significant contributor.
